Spirituality is the path to dissolving the mind and freeing the Will (evolutionary intent of the soul "being") to become a "higher" more pure (tuned) being (spirit) that is not restricted to the material. I have noticed that a lot of people say they are spiritual yet their spiritual beliefs are attached to the material. So in essence they are trapped and governed by their mind. They seek the spiritual but do not have the mental capacity to shift their perceptions away from the mind (material).
The mind is the thread that holds us to this material reality. Our body (shell) has become the anchor that we must master so that we may shift our perceptions towards the spiritual so that we may learn to regain control over our spirit so that our soul may be truly free in which we are confronted with the great decision that lies at the end of the "Great Work". To do as you Will or to do the Will of God. For as one moves up the so called ranks of self realization one must conform to the Will of God in order to know God. It is only at the end when one has achieved what they seek that the true self is challenged. For not many humans seek to master spirituality with the mind of Christ to use their abilities for the whole of it all. Most seek for far more selfish reasons that are governed by the Ego. One can still achieve the "Great Work" by repressing such an ego which is constantly being fueled in the back ground through ones advancements in which at the end of the "Great Work" they will be forced to do battle with the self. To be or not to be human? Both have their freedoms and enslavements. But only one is selfish.
